What do we do?

Retire horses in dignity.

We are horse people; that means horses are our responsibility. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit designated foundation organized for the purpose of:
• rescue
• retirement
• research
• remembrance

rescue . . . tell us about an old campaigner that has no place to go, let us know about a barn that needs a place for a favorite school horse, we'll provide the retirement they deserve.

retirement . . . you the horse community provide the tax-deductible funds to establish our first class retirement; this retirement is for horses that need a place, this retirement is for all of our horse partners who have no where else to go; we can do this together.

research . . . we will gather ideas and put them on the table, fax us, call us, we're listening; here's an idea, the US government wants us to ID our horses which will incur a cost and paper work. Why not include a $2, or a $5 charge on your vet's invoice for the specific purpose of horse retirement. With 9.2 million horses in the US we could gather 18.4 million dollars and set up several horse retirements; we can do this together.

remembrance . . . what horse do you have, or have you had that you want his story told, that you want a place for him forever, a place to honor him? The Southern Pines Sport Horse Foundation will display and share those stories.
